8:00 – 8:50 Music:

Pete Sturman
Pete Sturman cut his teeth as a performer in New Orleans as part of queer folk music duo Pistol Pete & Popgun Paul in the early 90s. It never quite paid off, so now he just sings for the joy of it. His original songs are witty, fun and often poignant, and he’s gotten to be a competent enough musician over the years that occasionally he will play other people’s songs!

Trouble With Kittens
A new project of original songs by Cassandra Burrows featuring Jessie Riley on vocals, Izzak Mills on bass clarinet and flute, Josh Katz-Rosen on baritone horn, and Yonah Adelman on drums. Trouble with Kittens make enchanting original music which span from quirky love ditties, to ominous warnings about nuclear apocalypse, to epic nautical story telling. Dark brass and woodwind textures with playful percussion and ample singing in the key of diva minor. Expect the unexpected.

8:50 Closing/Metta
